How it all began at Bäumer

For more than half a century, we have been pioneers in the field of special machines for processing polyurethane foams. We are known and appreciated all over the world - for advanced products and service of excellent quality. How did we get this far? It all began with Albrecht Bäumer...

The Bäumer company was founded in 1919 in Wuppertal by Albrecht Bäumer Senior as a small mechanical workshop. After being destroyed in the Second World War, the company was then rebuilt in 1946 in Bäumer's home town of Freudenberg.

In 1949, Albrecht Bäumer's son-in-law Hans Günther Schuster joined the company - and within a short space of time, he converted the entire production process. Instead of simple cutting machines for the clothing industry, from then on Bäumer manufactured special machines for the transportation, storage and processing of foams and similar materials.

A success story that we are continuing to write together.

  • 2025

    Successful launch of the new Bäumer HMI, including recognition as a Red Dot Winner 2025.

    Launch of TRIM premium – the first vertical cutting machine in the new Bäumer design.

    Awarded the title of global market leader by the Siegen Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

    The Contour V-blade receives the German Design Award.

  • 2023

    Subsidiary in Poland:
    Baumer of Poland

                 Baumer of America relocates:        New headquarters in Tampa, Florida

  • 2022

    Successful launch of the innovative vertical contour cutting machine Contour V-blade

  • 2021

    Company anniversary: 75 Years Bäumer

  • 2019

    Visit by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier as part of his trip to mid-sized companies

  • 2018

    Opening of factory 3 in Freudenberg 

    SOPHIE, the first MES for the foam industry was launched

    Certification as a family friendly company

    Settlement in China:
